COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING
Objectives:
To prepare the students to deliver community health service in rural and urban settings.
To impart knowledge about the alternative system of health promotion and health maintenance.
To participate in various health programmes.
To strengthen the community service through the adapted centers.
To upgrade the knowledge of students regarding currents trends and issues.
community health department consists of 3 faculties1 Asst professor, 1 lecturer, 1 clinical instructor rendering community health nursing education to100 students in II year and IV year graduates and four postgraduate students. Department has well-equipped lab for pre-demonstrations community lab with 50 bags ,puppets ,models, horrock’s apparatus, posters, with different types of AV Aids. Department members have undertaken departmental research activities to upgrade knowledge and professional development. Faculty’s encouraged attending CNE, workshop, and seminars. Monthly Regular department meetings are conducted to update departmental activities. Our department conducts various extension activities including conducting various clinics through community Centre. Medical camps, Health education for public awareness, organizing and conducting and Observance of All important National and International Health days like World Health day, World Diabetic Day, hepatitis day World Heart Day, environmental day, No tobacco day ,breast feeding week, World Cancer Day, mental health day etc. CNE’s conducted regularly. Our faculties are actively participating in the Centre activities.8 PG dissertations are submitted to the Kerala University of Health Sciences. UG and PG projects are conducting regularly
